The Lord spoke to Moses and gave him instructions to tell the Jewish Nation about the communal sacrifices. Command the Children of Israel and say to them: For My offering—which is like My food for My fires on the altar, and whose smell is pleasing to Me—you should appoint Kohanim and Levites to take care to offer it to Me at its proper time, every morning and afternoon. You should say to them: This is the fire-offering that you should offer to the Lord: Two lambs that are less than a year old and unblemished, offered each day as a daily burnt-offering on the altar. You shall prepare one lamb to be offered in the morning and you shall prepare the second lamb to be offered in the late afternoon. Along with this offering, you should offer a tenth of an eifah (approximately 2 kg/4.5 lbs) of fine flour as a flour-offering, mixed with a quarter of a hin (approximately 1.5 l/50 oz.) of oil from crushed olives.

This is the daily burnt-offering, the way it was done when the Jewish Nation was next to Mount Sinai and built the Sanctuary. It is a fire-offering to make a pleasing smell for the Lord. For its wine offering bring a quarter of a hin of wine along with the one lamb being offered in the morning. Pour this offering of strong wine for the Lord on the holy altar in the Temple. You shall prepare the second lamb to be offered in the late afternoon, and prepare the same flour and wine offerings as in the morning to be offered along with the lamb. It is a fire-offering, which is offered to make a pleasing smell for the Lord. On the Shabbat day, bring the following additional offering: two lambs that are less than a year old and unblemished, along with two-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mixed with oil as a flour-offering, and its wine offering. This is the burnt-offering for Shabbat, to be offered every Shabbat. It is to be offered in addition to the daily burnt-offering, its flour-offering, and its wine offering.

On your days of Rosh Chodesh, the first day of each month, you shall bring a burnt-offering to the Lord—two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs that are less than a year old; they should be unblemished. Bring three-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mixed with olive oil as a flour-offering for each bull and two-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mixed with olive oil as a flour-offering for the one ram. One-tenth of an eifah of fine flour mixed with olive oil should be brought as a flour-offering for each lamb. These shall be a burnt-offering and a fire-offering, offered to make a pleasing smell for the Lord. Their wine offering shall be as follows: a half a hin of wine for each bull, a third of a hin for the ram, and a quarter of a hin for each lamb. This is the burnt-offering of each month, to be offered only on its first day—if the first day has passed, it cannot be offered any other day of the month—for the months of the year. You shall also bring one young male goat as a sin-offering to the Lord. All of the above should be done in addition to the daily burnt-offering and its wine offering.

On the sixth day of the dedication, Elyassaf son of Deuel, leader of the tribe of Gad, brought his offering. His offering consisted of one silver plate that weighed one hundred and thirty shekel (approximately 5.5 lbs), one silver dish that weighed seventy shekel of the holy shekel (approximately 3 lbs); both were filled with fine flour mixed with olive oil, to be offered as a flour-offering. He also brought one golden spoon weighing ten holy shekel (approximately 6.7 ounces), filled with incense. He brought a young bull that was the choicest of its herd, one ram, and one lamb that was less than a year old as a burnt-offering, and one male goat as a sin-offering. As a peace-offering, he brought two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five lambs that were less than a year old. This was the offering of Elyassaf son of Deuel for the dedication of the altar.

SEVENTH DAY OF CHANUKAH

If it is Rosh Chodesh, the reading is the same as on the previous day, but for the fourth aliyah read בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי until בֶּן־עַמִּיהוּד.
