How to read the transliterations

If a festival falls on Saturday night, include the following:

When reciting Kiddush in the sukkah on Sukkot, include the following blessing. Look at the s'chach (the sukkah covering) while uttering the words לֵישֵׁב בַּסֻּכָּה.

While seated, consume at least 2 ounces of the wine.

Prior to eating bread wash your hands: Once you have confirmed that your hands are wholly clean, take a filled cup of water in the right hand and transfer it to the left hand. Over the right hand pour three times and then over the left hand pour three times, covering the whole hand as far as the wrist with water each time.

Once washing is done, rub both hands together and say the blessing of עַל נְטִילַת יָדַיִם found on page 165, then dry your hands and remain silent until after reciting הַמּוֹצִיא and eating the bread.

Prior to reciting the blessing over the two loaves of bread, lightly mark (but do not cut) one of them with your knife. Grasp both loaves in your hands, recite the blessing, then slice a piece and eat it.

If others are present at the meal who are not reciting a blessing over their own two loaves of bread, they ought to listen to your blessing and receive a piece from your bread. Custom is that they recite the blessing for bread over their own piece prior to eating it.

Set salt upon the table, and before eating it dip the piece of bread into the salt. The Torah declares that salt must accompany every sacrifice, and we mark this law by keeping salt on the table, which is likened to an altar. Per kabbalah, you ought to dip the piece of bread into the salt three times.

AMIDAH OF MAARIV, SHACHARIT, AND MINCHAH

Recite the Amidah in an undertone without any interruption, standing with your feet together.

Move three steps backward, then three steps forward.
