Our God and the God of our fathers, please willingly accept2 our resting from work on Shabbat. On this Shabbat day, renew this month for us for good and for blessing, (Amen) for joy and for happiness, (Amen) for salvation and for comfort, (Amen) for livelihood and for sustenance, (Amen) for good life and for peace, (Amen) for forgiving unintentional sins, and for forgiving intentional sins. (Amen) Make us holy through Your commandments and give us our portion in Your Torah, so that we will be able to learn it properly. Satisfy us with Your goodness and make our souls happy with Your salvation. Make our hearts pure in order for us to serve You honestly and in truth. Lord, our God, give us Your holy Shabbat as an inheritance—an everlasting gift—lovingly and willingly. All the Children of Israel, who make Your name holy, will rest on Shabbat, because You have chosen Your nation, the Children of Israel, from among all the other nations and You have made Your holy Shabbat known to them. You have also established the laws of Rosh Chodesh for them. Blessed are You, Lord, who makes the day of Shabbat, the Children of Israel, and the days of Rosh Chodesh holy.
