Those who keep Shabbat and call it a pleasure will be happy that You are King. All of the Jewish Nation, Your people, who make the seventh day holy, will feel satisfied from Your goodness and they will enjoy it. You were pleased with the seventh day and made it holy. You called it the most desirable of all days. It is a reminder of Your work during the six days of creation and Your resting on the seventh day.

Accept our rest, bless us, and help us serve You

Our God and the God of our fathers, please willingly accept our resting from work on Shabbat. Make us holy through Your commandments and give us our portion in Your Torah, so that we will be able to learn it properly. Satisfy us with Your goodness and make our souls happy with Your salvation. Make our hearts pure in order for us to serve You honestly and truthfully. Lord, our God, give us Your holy Shabbat as an inheritance—an everlasting gift—lovingly and willingly. All the Children of Israel, who make Your name holy, will rest on Shabbat. Blessed are You, Lord, Who makes Shabbat holy.

Lord, our God, may You continue to want the Children of Israel as Your nation and pay attention to their prayer.1 Return the service (offerings) to the Holy Temple, Your home. Accept with love and good will the fire offerings and prayer of the Children of Israel. May the service of Your nation, the Children of Israel, always find favor.

We acknowledge and are thankful to You, that You, Lord, are our God and the God of our fathers, forever and ever. You are the strength of our life and the shield that protects and saves us in every generation. We will give thanks to You and tell Your praise. We will thank and praise You for our lives, which are completely in Your hand, for our souls, which are kept securely by You, for the miracles that You perform for us every day, and for Your wonders and goodness that are always with us. Three times a day we praise You: in the evening, in the morning, and in the afternoon: Maariv, Shacharit, and Minchah. You are the Good God, because Your mercy never ends. We acknowledge and are thankful to You, that You, Lord, are our God and the God of our fathers. You are the God Who rules over all flesh, our Creator, and the Creator of everything that exists. We give blessings and thanks to Your great and holy name, because You have given us life and kept us alive. May You continue to give us life and keep us alive. Gather us from our exile and bring us to the courtyards of Your Holy Temple, so that we will return to serving You—to keep Your laws, to do Your will, and to serve You with a complete heart. We also thank You for letting us give thanks to You for all the good things You do for us. Blessed is God, Who is worthy of thanks.
