שִׁיר The following is a song that was composed to be sung on the steps of the Holy Temple. I lift my eyes to the mountains, and I ask: Where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip. Your Guardian does not slumber and will always protect you. Indeed, God, the Guardian of the Children of Israel, does not slumber and does not sleep. The Lord is your guard; the Lord is your protective shade, Who is always at your right hand to protect you from danger. The heat of the sun will not harm you by day; neither will the coldness of the night—when the moon shines. The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul. The Lord will guard you in all places—anywhere you go or come, and in all times—now and forever.
