Amidah

Visible layers
From Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur, say הַמֶּלֶךְ הַקָּדוֹשׁ instead of הָאֵל הַקָּדוֹשׁ. If an error was made, the Amidah must be repeated.

You and Your name are holy

God, You are holy and Your name is holy, and holy angels and souls will praise You every day, forever. Blessed are You, Lord, the holy God (King).

You blessed Shabbat and set it aside as a holy day

katuv be-Toratecha:
English
You, God, made the seventh day holy and set it aside in order for us to appreciate Your name and make Your presence known and felt. For that is the purpose of the creation of the heaven and the earth. You have blessed this day above all days and made it holier than all other times, even festivals, as it is written in Your Torah:

You rested on Shabbat and made it holy

Vayechulu hashamayim ve-ha-aretz vechol tzeva'am:
Va-yechal Elohim bayom ha-shevi'i

Vayevarech Elohim et yom ha-shevi'i,
vay'kadesh oto, ki vo shavat mikol
melachto asher bara Elohim la'asot:
English
The heaven and the earth and all of the creations within them, were completed. By the seventh day, God finished His work of creating the universe, which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work, which He had done. The Lord blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day He rested from all His work—the universe that the Lord created to continuously function.

The Jewish Nation will rejoice in Your kingship and goodness

English
Those who keep Shabbat and call it a pleasure will be happy that You are King. All of the Jewish Nation, Your people, who make the seventh day holy, will feel satisfied from Your goodness and they will enjoy it. You were pleased

with the seventh day and made it holy. You called it the most desirable of all days. It is a reminder of Your work during the six days of creation and Your resting on the seventh day.1

Our God and the God of our fathers, please willingly accept our resting from work on Shabbat. Make us holy through Your commandments and give us our portion in Your Torah, so that we will be able to learn it properly. Satisfy us with Your goodness and make our souls happy with Your salvation. Make our hearts pure in order for us to serve You honestly and truthfully. Lord, our God, give us Your holy Shabbat as an inheritance—an everlasting gift—lovingly and willingly. All the Children of Israel, who make Your name holy, will rest on Shabbat. Blessed are You, Lord, Who makes Shabbat holy.2

Always desire our service

Lord, our God, may You continue to want the Children of Israel as Your nation and pay attention to their prayer. Return the service (offerings) to the Holy Temple, Your home. Accept with love and good will the fire offerings and prayer of the Children of Israel. May the service of Your nation, the Children of Israel, always find favor.
