During the northern winter (from the 5th of December [or in the year before a non-Jewish leap year, the 6th of December] through Erev Pesach), say וְתֵן טַל וּמָטָר לִבְרָכָה. During the northern summer (the rest of the year), say וְתֵן בְּרָכָה. If an error was made, see laws on page 938.

on the surface of the earth, so that good produce will grow. Satisfy us from Your great goodness and bless this year to be like the good years in which there was plenty of livelihood as a blessing for us, because You are a good God Who does good to everyone and blesses the years so that we should have plenty of livelihood. Gather us all to the Land of Israel

מְקַבֵּץ נִדְחֵי עַמּוֹ יִשְׂרָאֵל:

Blow the great shofar to announce our freedom from exile. Raise a big flag—give us a signal—so that we will know to gather together from our exiles. Gather us together from the four corners of the earth and bring us to our holy Land of Israel. Blessed are You, Lord, Who gathers those of His nation, the Children of Israel, who are scattered around the world.

Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, say הַמֶּלֶךְ הַמִּשְׁפָּט instead of מֶלֶךְ אוֹהֵב צְדָקָה וּמִשְׁפָּט. If an error was made, it is not necessary to return or repeat the Amidah.

Restore our judges

Bring back our fair and honest judges, such as Moses and Aharon, as it was in early times. Bring back our advisors—our prophets—as we had in the beginning, long ago. Remove from us any sadness and groaning caused by unfair judgments, and rule over us—You alone, Lord—with kindness, mercy, righteousness, and justice. Blessed

Destroy our enemies

May there be no hope for those who inform on their fellow Jews. May all the heretics who do not believe in God and His Torah and the sinners be destroyed instantly. May all the enemies of Your nation be cut down speedily and completely destroyed. May You quickly uproot, break, crush, and humble the wicked kingdoms and rulers who treat the Jewish Nation badly; may You do this speedily in our days. Blessed1 are You, Lord, Who breaks our enemies and humbles sinners.

Reward the righteous

God, have mercy on the righteous people who act righteously, on the devoted ones who fulfill Your commandments with great care, on the elders of the House of Israel, Your nation—the sages who learn Torah—on the scholars who remain from previous generations, on the righteous converts, and on us. Please awaken Your mercy, Lord, our God, on all these people and on us. Give a good reward to all those who truly trust in Your name, and place our portion to be from among them—may we be righteous like them. May we never be disgraced by following the evil inclination, because we trust in You to give us the strength to overcome temptation. Blessed are You, Lord, You are a support and security for the righteous people who believe in You.
