English

May the merciful God break off the yoke of exile from our necks, removing its restrictions and hardships from us, and may He lead us, standing upright and proud, to our land—the Land of Israel.

May the merciful God send us Elijah the Prophet, who is remembered for the good things he did, to inform us of the good news that the Redemption has arrived, bringing comfort and salvation.

בַּעַל הַבַּיִת הַזֶּה וְאֶת אִמִּי

English

May the merciful God bless my father and teacher, the master of this house, and my mother and teacher, the mistress of this house. God should bless them, their household, their descendants, and everything that belongs to them, together with us and everything that belongs to us. Just as He blessed our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in all things, so too, He should bless all of us (the Jewish Nation, children of the Covenant with God) together, in all things, with a complete blessing, and let us say Amen.

May God give us peace, blessing, and kindness

May the angels ask God to give us and him2—the owner of this home—a special privilege from heaven above: that there should be long-lasting peace for all of us and that we should receive blessing and kindness from the Lord, Who saves us. May we find grace and good understanding in the eyes of God and all people, making them kind and considerate toward us.

On Shabbat:

English

May the merciful God give us as an inheritance the day that will be entirely Shabbat and rest; may He bring the Redemption, when we will have everlasting life.

May the merciful God re-establish for us the fallen "sukkah"—kingdom—of King David by bringing the Redemption.

On Chanukah and Purim, if וְעַל הַנִּסִּים on page 175 was omitted, say the following. If the following was also omitted, it is not necessary to return or repeat the Blessing After a Meal.
