CHANUKAH

THE SEQUENCE FOR KINDLING THE CHANUKAH LIGHTS

The Chabad custom is to set the menorah, upon a chair or the like, inside the doorway, beside the doorpost opposite the mezuzah. On Chanukah's first night, a single light is kindled at the menorah's far right. Each night thereafter, one further light is added immediately to the left of the preceding night's light; that which is newly added is kindled first, and the kindling then proceeds toward the right. See additional laws, page 612.
These blessings are said while one stands, and thereafter the lights are kindled.
