BIRKAT KOHANIM IN ISRAEL

In Israel, the following is said by the Leader during the Repetition of the Amida when Kohanim bless the congregation. If there is more than one Kohen, a member of the congregation calls: (See laws 371–378.)

וְצִוָּנוּ לְבָרֵךְ אֶת עַמּוֹ יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאַהֲבָה.
Sephardi
Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha'olam, asher kideshanu bikdushato shel Aharon
vetzivanu levarech et amo Yisrael be'ahavah.
English
Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the Universe, who has made us holy with the holiness of Aaron, and has commanded us to bless His people Israel with love.
The Leader calls word by word, followed by the Kohanim:

Majestic One on high who dwells in power: You are peace and Your name is peace. May it be Your will to bestow on us and on Your people the house of Israel, life and blessing as a safeguard for peace.

Master of the Universe: we have done what You have decreed for us. So too may You deal with us as You have promised us. Look down from Your holy dwelling place, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land You have given us as You promised on oath to our ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Grant peace, goodness and blessing, life, grace, loving-kindness and compassion to us and all Israel Your people. Bless us, our Father, all as one, with the light of Your face, for by the light of Your face You have given us, LORD our God, the Torah of life and love of kindness, righteousness, blessing, compassion, life and peace. May it be good in Your eyes to bless us and all Your people Israel, at every time, in every hour, with Your peace.

In the book of life, blessing, peace and prosperity, may we and all Your people the house of Israel be remembered and written before You for a good life, and for peace.
