bound up in their clothes, slung over their shoulders. And the children of Israel did as Moses commanded: they asked the Egyptians for silver vessels, golden vessels, and clothing. And the LORD caused the people to find favor in the eyes of the Egyptians – they let them have what they asked, and [thus the Israelites] depleted Egypt.

The children of Israel then traveled from Rameses to Sukkot – about six hundred thousand men on foot, as well as children. A mixed multitude went up with them as well, and sheep and cattle, herds of great number. They baked the dough they had taken out of Egypt, matza rounds, for they had not risen; for they were expelled from Egypt and could not delay, and they had not prepared any provisions for themselves. The children of Israel had dwelled in Egypt for four hundred and thirty years. And when four hundred and thirty years came to an end, on that very day, the LORD's hosts left Egypt. It was a night of guarding to the LORD, so as to bring them out of Egypt – this night is therefore safeguarded for the LORD, by all of the children of Israel for all generations.

English

The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron: These are the laws of the Pesaḥ offering: no stranger shall eat of it. Every man's slave that is bought for money must first be circumcised; after that he may eat of it. A sojourner or hired laborer may not eat of it. It must be eaten in one house – you may not take any of its meat outside the house, and you may not break any of its bones. All the community of Israel shall observe this. *If a proselyte lives among you and brings a Pesaḥ offering to the LORD, he must circumcise all of his males – then he may come and offer it, just as one home-born in your land – no one uncircumcised may partake of it. The same law shall apply to one born in your land and to the proselyte who dwells among you. All of the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron; that is what they did.

It was on that very day that the LORD brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in all their hosts.
