אֱלֹהַי
עַד שֶׁלֹּא נוֹצַרְתִּי אֵינִי כְדַאי
וְעַכְשָׁו שֶׁנּוֹצַרְתִּי, כְּאִלּוּ לֹא נוֹצַרְתִּי
עָפָר אֲנִי בְחַיַּי, קַל וָחֹמֶר בְּמִיתָתִי.
הֲרֵי אֲנִי לְפָנֶיךָ כִּכְלִי מָלֵא בּוּשָׁה וּכְלִמָּה.
יְהִי רָצוֹן מִלְּפָנֶיךָ, יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהַי וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתַי
שֶׁלֹּא אֶחֱטָא עוֹד.
וּמַה שֶּׁחָטָאתִי לְפָנֶיךָ, מְחוֹק בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים
אֲבָל לֹא עַל יְדֵי יִסּוּרִים וָחֳלָיִם רָעִים.

Ve'achshav shenotzarti, ke'ilu lo notzarti

Harei ani lefanecha kichli malei bushah uchlimah.
Yehi ratzon milefanecha, Adonai Elohai veilohei avotai

Umah shechatati lefanecha, mechok berachamecha harabim
Aval lo al yedei yisurim vacholayim ra'im.

English

My God, before I was formed I was unworthy, and now that I have been formed it is as if I had not been formed. I am dust while alive, how much more so when I am dead. See, I am before You like a vessel filled with shame and disgrace. May it be Your will, LORD my God and God of my fathers, that I may sin no more, and as for the sins I have committed before You, erase them in Your great compassion, but not by suffering or severe illness.

Berakhot 17a

אֱלֹהַי
נְצֹר לְשׁוֹנִי מֵרָע וּשְׂפָתַי מִדַּבֵּר מִרְמָה
וְלִמְקַלְלַי נַפְשִׁי תִדּוֹם, וְנַפְשִׁי כֶּעָפָר לַכֹּל תִּהְיֶה.
פְּתַח לִבִּי בְּתוֹרָתֶךָ וְאַחֲרֵי מִצְוֹתֶיךָ תִּרְדּוֹף נַפְשִׁי
וְכָל הַקָּמִים וְהַחוֹשְׁבִים עָלַי רָעָה
מְהֵרָה הָפֵר עֲצָתָם וְקַלְקֵל מַחְשַׁבְתָּם.

Sephardi

Netzor leshoni mera usefatai midaber mirmah
Velimkalelai nafshi tidom, venafshi ke'afar lakol tihyeh.
Petach libi beToratecha ve'acharei mitzvotecha tirdof nafshi
Vechol hakamim vehachoshvim alai ra'ah
Meheirah hafer atzatam vekalkel machshavtam.

English

My God, guard my tongue from evil and my lips from deceitful speech. To those who curse me, let my soul be silent; may my soul be to all like the dust. Open my heart to Your Torah and let my soul pursue Your commandments. As for all who rise up or plan evil against me, swiftly thwart their counsel and frustrate their plans.

וְשֶׁלֹּא אֶכְעֹס הַיּוֹם, וְשֶׁלֹּא אַכְעִיסְךָ
וְתַצִּילֵנִי מִיֵּצֶר הָרָע, וְתֵן בְּלִבִּי הַכְנָעָה וַעֲנָוָה.
מַלְכֵּנוּ וֵאלֹהֵינוּ, יַחֵד שִׁמְךָ בְּעוֹלָמֶךָ
בְּנֵה עִירְךָ, יַסֵּד בֵּיתְךָ וְשַׁכְלֵל הֵיכָלֶךָ
וְקַבֵּץ קִבּוּץ גָּלֻיּוֹת, וּפְדֵה צֹאנֶךָ וְשַׂמַּח עֲדָתֶךָ.

English

May it be Your will, LORD my God, God of my ancestors, that envy of no man may rise up in me, nor envy of me in any other; that I will not be angry today, nor make You angry; and save me from my evil impulse, placing humility and modesty into my heart. Our King and God, make Your name One in Your world; build up Your city, establish Your House and complete Your Sanctuary, gather in the exiles, redeem Your flock, and have Your congregation rejoice.
