Rachem na kehal adat Yeshurun, selach umechal avonam
Vehoshi'einu Elohei yishenu.

English

Have compassion, please, for the community of the people of Yeshurun; forgive and pardon their iniquity, and save us, God of our salvation.

English

As the eyes of slaves are raised / to their masters’ hands we come before You, judged save us, God of our salvation.

English

Proud LORD of lords, / they have brought us to conflict; they have trampled us; other lords have mastered us so save us, God of our salvation.

הֵן גִּשְׁנוּ הַיּוֹם בְּתַחֲנוּן, עָדֶיךָ רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן
וְסִפַּרְנוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ בְּשִׁנּוּן. וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ.

Hen gishnu hayom betachanun, adekha rachum vechanun

English

We have come today, pleading – / before You, Compassionate and Gracious One, telling and repeating Your wondrous acts now save us, God of our salvation.

English

Please do not dry up / what flowed with milk and honey; heal the land’s pain with clouds full of water and save us, God of our salvation.

English

Plant us in luscious land, / at the hand of the seven shepherds, the eight princes, righteous, upright God of faithfulness yes, save us, God of our salvation.

כָּרַת בְּרִית לָאָרֶץ, עוֹד כָּל יְמֵי הָאָרֶץ
לְבִלְתִּי פָרֹץ בָּהּ פָּרֶץ. וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ.

English

You forged a covenant with the land / for as long as the earth will be, never to break it apart again so save us, God of our salvation.

מִתְחַנְּנִים עֲלֵי מַיִם, כַּעֲרָבִים עַל יִבְלֵי מָיִם
נָא זְכֹר לָמוֹ נִסּוּךְ הַמָּיִם. וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ.

Sephardi

Mitchannenim alei mayim, ka'aravim al yivlei mayim
Na zechor lamo nisukh hamayim. Vehoshi'einu Elohei yishenu.

English

Those who plead with You for water / as willows thirst over streams of water – remember for them the libation of water and save us, God of our salvation.

שִׂיחִים בְּדֶרֶךְ מַטָּעָתָם, עוֹמְסִים בִּישׁוּעָתָם
עֲנֵם בְּקוֹל פְּגִיעָתָם. וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ.

Sichim bederech mata'atam, omsim bishu'atam
Anem bekol pegi'atam. Vehoshi'einu Elohei yishenu.

English

As they plead they carry with them / plants, held straight as they grow; answer their prayer, their voice and save us, God of our salvation.

English

You who work salvations, / turn to hear their prayers, and vindicate them, God of salvation to save us, God of our salvation.

קוֹל רוֹגְשָׁם תְּשַׁע, תִּפְתַּח אֶרֶץ וְיִפְרוּ יֶשַׁע
רַב לְהוֹשִׁיעַ וְלֹא חָפֵץ רֶשַׁע. וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ.

Kol rogsham tesha, tiftach eretz veyifru yesha
Rav lehoshia velo chafetz resha. Vehoshi'einu Elohei yishenu.

English

Listen to the voice of their crowds who come, / and open the earth, to bear fruit of salvation, You who are great in saving, who desire no evil save us, God of our salvation.

English

Open the gates of heaven, / and throw open Your treasury of good. Save us, and do not press Your claims against us but save us, God of our salvation.
