When setting the Jewish calendar, you should add an extra month every few years to ensure that the month of Nissan always occurs during the spring. On the fourteenth of Nissan, you shall bring the Pesach-offering to the Lord, your God. For it was in this month, in the spring, that the Lord, your God, brought you out of Egypt; beginning on the night of the fifteenth, when Pharaoh gave the Jews permission to leave. You shall sacrifice the Pesach-offering to the Lord, your God, from your flock, and also the standard festival-offering from your cattle, in the Holy Temple—the place where the Lord will choose to rest His Name. You shall not eat bread or any other leavened foods with it nor have any in your possession. For seven days you shall eat matzot—the bread that reminds you of your affliction in the land of Egypt—for you went out of the land of Egypt in great haste and did not have time to allow your dough to rise. Eat the Pesach-offering and matzot every year so that you will remember the day you went out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

And during the seven days of Pesach no leavened foods, belonging to you, shall be seen within all of your property, and there shall not remain overnight any of the meat of the sacrifices that you will sacrifice in the afternoon of the previous day, the fourteenth of Nissan, until the morning—you must eat it that night. You may not slaughter the Pesach-offering and offer it on an altar in any of your cities that the Lord, your God, is giving you. Only, you must bring it to the Holy Temple—the place where the Lord, your God, will choose to rest His Name, and there, you shall slaughter the Pesach-offering in the afternoon of the fourteenth of Nissan, and you shall eat it when the sun sets, and all the meat shall be eaten by morning—the time that you went out of Egypt. You shall roast the Pesach-offering and eat it in Jerusalem—the place that the Lord, your God, will choose—on the night of the fifteenth of Nissan. You shall remain in Jerusalem through the following night, and you may only turn to go home beginning on the morning of the sixteenth. Then, you may go back to your tent—your home—in the cities where you live. On the first day of Pesach, the matzot you eat should be made of grain from the old crop. However, for the next six days, from the second day of Pesach, when you bring the Omer-offering, you may eat matzot made of grain from the new crop; you shall not eat leavened bread all seven days of Pesach. On the first day of Pesach and then again on the seventh day, it shall be a day on which you cease to perform any work in honor of the Lord, your God; you shall not do any work.

You shall count seven weeks for yourself; beginning on the sixteenth of Nissan, when the sickle is first put to the standing crop, you shall begin to count seven weeks. At the conclusion of this seven week count, you shall celebrate the Festival of Shavuot for the Lord, your God; you shall bring as many peace-offerings as you can afford to give, in proportion to how much the Lord, your God, will have blessed you. And you shall rejoice before the Lord, your God, you, together with your son and daughter. Ensure that your manservant and maidservant, and also the Levite who dwells within your cities, the convert, the orphan, the widow, and any needy people who are among you, have enough with which to celebrate. You shall celebrate in Jerusalem—the place that the Lord, your God, will choose to rest His name there. You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt and God took you out from there, so that you should preserve and perform these statutes.

You shall celebrate the Festival of Sukkot for seven days, beginning from the evening before the fifteenth of Tishrei, which is when you typically gather all harvest from your threshing floor and your wine vat for the winter season. And you shall rejoice on your festival, you, together with your son and daughter. Ensure that your manservant and maidservant, and also the Levite, the convert, the orphan, the widow, and any needy people who dwell in your cities, have enough with which to celebrate. For seven days you shall celebrate the Festival of Sukkot for the Lord, your God, in Jerusalem—the place that the Lord will choose, because the Lord, your God, will bless you in all of your crops and in all the work of your hand, and you will only be happy. Three times a year, all of your males shall appear before the Lord, your God, in the Holy Temple—the place that He will choose to rest His name, on Pesach—the Festival of Matzot, on the Festival of Shavuot, and on the Festival of Sukkot; and they shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed. Each man should bring sacrifices according to what his hand can afford to give, according to the amount of blessing that the Lord, your God, has given you.
