קִדּוּשׁ הַלְּבָנָה

לְיוֹצְרָם עַל שֵׁם כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתוֹ.
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, מְחַדֵּשׁ חֳדָשִׁים:

Sephardi

Atidim l'hit'chadesh kemotah, ulfa'er
l'yotzram al shem kevod malchuto.
Baruch Atah Adonai, m'chadesh chodashim:

English

renewed, just like the moon, and they will glorify their Creator, for the name of the glory of His kingdom. Blessed are You, God, Who renews the months.

Say the following paragraph three times. Rise three times on your toes before saying it each time.

To the moon we say: Blessed is your Maker; blessed is God, Who formed you; blessed is your Creator; blessed is your Master. Just as I jump toward you now but cannot touch you, so should all my enemies not be able to touch me harmfully. May terror and fear fall upon them;1 with the great strength of Your arm, God, let them become as still as stone. Like stone, let them be still because of Your arm's great strength. May fear and terror fall upon them.

Say the following three times.

God rushes to save us

King Solomon writes in Song of Songs: I hear the voice of God, my Beloved! Here He comes, skipping over the mountains and jumping over the hills to redeem the Jewish Nation from exile. My Beloved is like a swift antelope or a young deer. Here He stands behind our wall,2 watching through the windows, peeking through the cracks, waiting for us to finish our job so that we may be redeemed from exile.

God is our Protector

The following is a song that was composed to be sung on the steps of the Holy Temple. I lift my eyes to the mountains, and I ask: Where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip. Your Guardian does not slumber and will always protect you. Indeed, God, the Guardian of the Children of Israel, does not slumber and does not sleep. The Lord is your guard; the Lord is your protective shade, Who is always at your right hand to protect you from danger. The heat of the sun will not harm you by day; neither will the coldness of the night—when the moon shines. The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul. The Lord will guard you in all places—anywhere you go or come, and in all times—now and forever.
