עָלֶיךָ, בַּקֶּבֶר. וַהֲקִיצוֹתָ הִיא
תְשִׂיחֶךָ, לָעוֹלָם הַבָּא. וְאוֹמֵר:
לִי הַכֶּסֶף וְלִי הַזָּהָב, נְאֻם יְיָ

<b>creations,</b> so a person cannot really own gold and silver. Whereas Torah becomes part of a person, and therefore remains with him in the World to Come.

<b>10 The Holy One, blessed be He, took ownership of five possessions in His world. They are: Torah—one possession;</b><sup>1</sup> <b>heaven and earth—one possession; Abraham</b> our forefather—<b>one possession; the Children of Israel—one possession; the Holy Temple—one possession. From where do we know that God takes ownership of the Torah? Because it is written</b> in Proverbs: <b>The Lord took ownership of the Torah before the creation of the world, before His work, long ago. From where do we know that God takes ownership of the heaven and earth? Because it is written</b> in Isaiah: <b>The Lord says as follows: The heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool, so what house can you build for Me? And where is My resting place?</b> And as King David says in Psalms: <b>Lord, how many are the works of Your hands! You made them all with great wisdom. The earth is full of Your possessions. From where do we know that God took ownership of Abraham</b> our forefather? <b>Because it is written</b> in the Torah: <b>And Malkizedek blessed him and said: Blessed is Abraham who belongs to God, the Highest, Owner of heaven and earth. From where do we know that God takes ownership of the Children of Israel? Because it is written</b> in the Torah: <b>Lord, scare away any enemies until Your nation crosses over; until this nation, which You took possession of,</b> crosses over the Jordan River and safely enters the Land of Israel. <b>And it says</b> in Psalms: <b>The holy people who are buried in the</b>

<b>land—the mighty ones, the Jewish Nation—all My delight is in them,</b> says God. <b>From where do we know that God took ownership of the Holy Temple? <b>Rabbi Chananya ben Akashya says: the Holy One, blessed be He, wanted to make the Children of Israel have many merits. He therefore gave them an abundance of Torah and commandments,</b> so that they would have many opportunities to connect to God. <b>As it says</b> in Isaiah: <b>The Lord wanted, for the sake of increasing the Jewish Nation's righteousness, that the Torah be made great and glorious.</b>
