לָכֵן יְהִי רָצוֹן מִלְּפָנֶיךָ יְיָ
אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ, שֶׁיְּהֵא
שִׂיחַ שִׂפְתוֹתֵינוּ חָשׁוּב וּמְקֻבָּל
לְפָנֶיךָ, כְּאִלּוּ הִקְרַבְנוּ קָרְבַּן
הַתָּמִיד בְּמוֹעֲדוֹ וְעָמַדְנוּ עַל
מַעֲמָדוֹ, וְהִקְטַרְנוּ הַקְּטֹרֶת בִּזְמַנָּהּ,
כְּמָה שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: וּנְשַׁלְּמָה פָרִים
שְׂפָתֵינוּ: וְנֶאֱמַר: זֹאת הַתּוֹרָה
לָעֹלָה לַמִּנְחָה וְלַחַטָּאת וְלָאָשָׁם
וְלַמִּלּוּאִים וּלְזֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים:

<b>Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord, our God and the God of our fathers, that the</b> verses about the daily burnt-offering and the incense that <b>our lips</b> have just <b>spoken should be esteemed and accepted before You, as if we had actually brought the daily burnt-offering in its appointed time, stood</b> there <b>in the proper place,</b> watched while it was being offered, <b>and burned the incense at its proper time.</b> Our prayers are instead of Temple offerings, <b>as it is said</b> by the prophet Hosea: Today, after the destruction of the Holy Temple, we <b>make up for the bulls</b> that we cannot bring as offerings by talking about the offerings with <b>our lips</b> in prayer. <b>And the Torah says: This is the law regarding the burnt-offering, the flour-offering, the sin-offering, the guilt-offering, the consecration-offering, and the peace-offering.</b> From the words “this is the law,” we learn that when a person studies these laws, God considers it as if he had actually offered them on the altar.
