English

The following special things belong to You, Lord: greatness, strength, glory, victory, and majesty. All of these came from You, because everything in heaven and on earth is Yours. The ability to rule as a king belongs to You, Lord, and You have given kings the power to rule over their kingdoms. You are raised above all other rulers. Exalt the Lord, our God, and bow down in the direction of the Holy Temple, God’s footstool, because He is holy. Exalt the Lord, our God, and bow down in the direction of His holy mountain, the Temple Mount, because the Lord, our God, is holy.

May God’s name be praised

May the name of the supreme King of all kings, the Holy One, blessed be He, be made great and holy. May it be praised, glorified, exalted, and raised above everything else in the worlds—this world and the World to Come—which He created according to His desire, according to the desire of those who fear Him, and according to the desire of Your entire people, the House of Israel. God is the Rock of strength for the worlds, Master of all creations, and the God of all souls, Who sits on His throne in the wide-open spaces in heaven above and rests in the ancient, most high heavens. His holiness rests on the Chayot angels, and His holiness also rests on the Throne of Glory. Similarly, Lord, our God, may Your name be made holy within us for all living things to see. We will then sing a new song to God, as it is written in Psalms: Sing to God, play music to praise His name. Exalt the God Who rides upon the heavens. Praise His name with awe and rejoice before Him.

When the Redemption arrives God will be revealed and praised

English

When the Redemption arrives, we will all recognize God. We will see Him eye to eye when He returns to His dwelling place,1 as it is written in Isaiah: For they—the Jewish Nation—will see eye to eye when the Lord returns to Zion (Jerusalem). It is also said in Isaiah: And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and together all people of flesh will see that the mouth of the Lord has spoken.2

May God have mercy on us and save us

May God, the All-Merciful Father, have mercy on the Jewish Nation, the nation that belongs to Him and is carried by Him. May He remember the Covenant that He made with the Patriarchs, who are called the strong ones. May He save our souls from bad times and banish the evil inclination from within us—the ones who are carried by Him. God, graciously give us everlasting survival, and fulfill our wishes fully, in good measure, with salvation and mercy.

ALIYOT TO THE TORAH

After the Torah has been placed on the bimah, the gabbai calls a Kohen to the Torah by saying the following. If there is no Kohen, the gabbai calls a Levite or Israelite to the Torah instead.

וְיַעֲזֹר וְיָגֵן וְיוֹשִׁיעַ לְכָל הַחוֹסִים בּוֹ
וְנֹאמַר אָמֵן. הַכֹּל הָבוּ גֹדֶל
לֵאלֹהֵינוּ וּתְנוּ כָבוֹד לַתּוֹרָה. כֹּהֵן קְרָב,

May God help, protect, and save all who trust in Him, and let us say Amen. Let us all give glory to our God, and give honor to the Torah. Let the Kohen approach the Torah. Come up, (name) the son of (father’s name) the Kohen. Blessed is God, Who, in His holiness, gave the Torah to the Children of Israel, His people.
