Hold the two front tzitzit in your right hand while saying the following two paragraphs:

לְשֵׁם I will now pray in order to unite the Holy One, blessed be He, together with His Divine Presence,1 in order to unite the name Yud Kay with Vav Kay. By uniting Yud Kay and Vav Kay, I arrange God's name in perfect unity, and I do this in the name of all the Children of Israel.

בָּרוּךְ Blessed is God, Who created the universe through speech; God spoke, and the universe came into being. He is blessed.2 Blessed is God, Who says what He will do, and does it.3 Blessed is God, Who makes decrees and fulfills them. Blessed is God, Who creates the universe. Blessed is God, Who has mercy on the earth. Blessed is God, Who has mercy on the creations of the earth.4 Blessed is God, Who gives good rewards to those who fear Him.5 Blessed is God, Who lives and exists forever and ever. Blessed is God, Who redeems and saves.6 God's name is blessed. Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the universe, the caring God, the merciful Father, Who cares for the Jewish Nation as a father to his child. God is praised by the mouth of His nation. He is praised and glorified through the praises that come from the tongues of the Children of Israel, who are His devoted ones and His servants, and with the songs of Your servant King David, found in Psalms. We will praise You now, Lord, our God, with praises and songs in the Verses of Praise. We will make Your name great, we will praise You, glorify You, and call You King. We will mention Your name, our King and our God. God, You are the only One; You are the life of all the worlds, our King.7 Your great name is praised and glorified forever and ever. Blessed are You, Lord, the King Who is praised with the Jewish Nation's praises.

Commentary

1 Holy One" refers to a level of Godliness that is separate from the world; "Divine Presence" refers to a level of Godliness that rests within the world. It is our task to "unite" these two levels by praying to God and serving Him with all our heart.

2 We refer to God here in the third person (בָּרוּךְ הוּא). This is because we are referring to a level of God that is distant, and beyond our understanding.

3 The universe was created in two stages: when God said "בְּרֵאשִׁית," the first of the ten utterances, the entire universe came into being in a state of potential (מַחְשָׁבָה). Later on, when God wanted to bring each individual creation into existence with its specific characteristics, He said one of the other nine utterances. This is why we first say בָּרוּךְ שֶׁאָמַר וְהָיָה הָעוֹלָם, describing the first stage of creation (בְּרֵאשִׁית), before continuing with the second stage, בָּרוּךְ אוֹמֵר וְעֹשֶׂה.

4 The creations exist not in their own merit, but rather because God "has mercy" on them and continuously keeps them in existence.

5 "Reward" refers to the Garden of Eden; "Good reward" refers to a higher level of revelation that is revealed in the Garden of Eden, specifically to "those who fear" God.

6 We thank God for the ability to use physical objects for holy purposes. Ordinarily, these objects contain potential holiness that is trapped within them. When they are used for a holy purpose, the holiness is "redeemed," and the object is transformed into something holy.

On a personal level, we are also thanking God because He "redeems and saves" our souls from the evil inclination.

7 These words refer to two different aspects of God: יָחִיד, "single," refers to God as He exists alone and removed from the world. חֵי הָעוֹלָמִים, "life of the world," refers to God as He is revealed in the world, as the מֶלֶךְ, "king." Through this revelation, God provides the world with energy for it to exist.
