English

who does not want to make peace—whether the opponent is Jewish or not—and from the strict judgment of Gehinom. Protect me, God, from all these bad things.

Blessing for learning Torah

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ
הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ
בְּמִצְוֹתָיו, וְצִוָּנוּ עַל דִּבְרֵי תּוֹרָה:

English

Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the universe, Who made us holy with His commandments and commanded us to study the words of Torah.

We and our descendants should enjoy learning Torah and learn it for its own sake

תּוֹרָתְךָ בְּפִינוּ, וּבְפִי כָּל

Lord, our God, please make the study of the words of Your Torah pleasant and enjoyable in our mouths and in the mouths of Your entire nation, the House of Jacob. May we, our children, and the children of all Your nation, the House of Jacob, all be knowledgeable about Your name; may we all know You, and may we all be learners of Your Torah, who learn it for its own sake. Blessed are You, Lord, Who teaches Torah to His nation, the Children of Israel.

We thank God for choosing to give the Torah to the Jewish Nation

English

The Torah says: The Lord spoke to Moses, and gave him instructions to tell Aaron and his sons. The Lord said: Speak to Aaron and his sons and explain their obligation to bless the Jewish Nation. Tell them: This is how you should bless the Children of Israel. Say to them the following blessing:

May the Lord bless you with livelihood and guard your possessions. May the Lord shine His joyful face upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord hold back His anger and turn His merciful face toward you, and may He give you peace.

Tell Aaron and his sons that they should put My holy name upon the Children of Israel by blessing them. I will agree with their blessings, and I Myself will bless the entire Jewish Nation, including the Kohanim.

These are the commandments that have no limit; they can be fulfilled in any measure: Leaving produce at the edge of your field for poor people to take, bringing your first fruits1 to the Holy Temple, going up to the Holy Temple for the festivals to be seen before God,2 doing kind deeds for others, and learning Torah. These are the commandments for which a person receives some of the reward in this world and the main part of the reward in the World to Come. They are: Honoring your father and mother, doing kind deeds for others, coming early to a place of Torah study in the morning and at night, welcoming guests into your home, visiting the sick, providing a bride with all her needs for marriage, escorting a dead person to his burial, concentrating during prayer, and making peace between two people and between husband and wife. All of these commandments are important, but learning Torah is equal to all of them combined, because learning Torah enables a person to fulfill all the other commandments.
