Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the universe, Who formed man wisely and created in him many openings on the outside of the body, such as the eyes and ears, as well as many hollow areas inside the body, such as the heart and the lungs. It is an obvious and known fact before Your Throne of Glory that if any one of those body parts that are supposed to be opened would become blocked, or any one of those body parts that are supposed to be closed would open, it would be impossible to survive for even a short amount of time. Blessed are You, Lord, Who heals all flesh and does wonders. It is a wonder that the body is able to take energy from food and remove the waste.

We thank God for our soul

My God, the soul that You have put into me is pure. You created it out of nothing, You formed it, You breathed it into me when I was born, and You protect it within me. You will eventually take it from me when I pass away and return it to me as new in the coming future when the dead are resurrected following the final Redemption. Therefore, as long as my soul is within me, I give thanks before You, Lord, my God and the God of my fathers, Ruler of all creations and Master of all souls. Blessed are You, Lord, Who returns souls to sleeping people, who are like dead bodies.
Say these blessings before engaging in any activity.
