Amidah

עֲמִידָה

Chabad: ' is a reduced vowel — every vocal shva, always pronounced. - separates syllables that would otherwise run together.

How to read the transliterations

You resurrect the dead

Hebrew

אַתָּה גִּבּוֹר לְעוֹלָם אֲדֹנָי, מְחַיֵּה
מֵתִים אַתָּה, רַב לְהוֹשִׁיעַ.

Chabad

atoh giboyr l'oylom Adonoy, m'chayeih
meisim atoh, rav l'hoyshia.

In the northern winter (from Shemini Atzeret until the first day of Pesach), recite מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם.

In the northern summer (from the first day of Pesach until Shemini Atzeret), recite מוֹרִיד הַטָּל.

If מוֹרִיד הַטָּל was said in winter, there is no need to go back and correct the error. If מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם was said in summer and the mistake is noticed before completing the blessing, return to the blessing's start. If the mistake is noticed after saying God's name at the blessing's end, begin the Amidah again.

From Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur, insert the following. If left out, there is no need to go back or repeat the Amidah.

קְדֻשָּׁה

Kedushah

Kedushah is recited during the chazzan's repetition of the Amidah. Stand with both feet together and make no interruption. Lift onto your toes at the words קָדוֹשׁ, קָדוֹשׁ, קָדוֹשׁ; בָּרוּךְ; and יִמְלֹךְ. See page 943 for transliteration.
