Musaf for Festivals and Chol Hamoed

The Amidah

עמידה

Chabad: ' is a reduced vowel — every vocal shva, always pronounced. - separates syllables that would otherwise run together.

How to read the transliterations
While at prayer, attend to the meaning of the words. Bear in mind that you stand before the Divine Presence. Cast off any distracting thoughts, letting the mind remain fixed upon prayer. Prior to beginning the Amidah, take three steps backward, then three steps forward. Recite the Amidah quietly—yet audibly—while standing with feet together. Throughout the Amidah, which ends on page 350, interruptions of every kind are forbidden. For laws concerning the festival Amidah, see page 608.

In winter (from Musaf of Shemini Atzeret until Shacharit of Pesach's first day), say מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם. In summer (from Musaf of Pesach's first day through Shacharit of Shemini Atzeret), say מוֹרִיד הַטָּל. Should one, by mistake, have said מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם in summer, it must be corrected, and repeating the Amidah may be required (for further laws, see page 589). Yet should one, by mistake, have said מוֹרִיד הַטָּל in winter, one need not go back and correct it.
