WAVING OF THE LULAV

The fifth, downward
The sixth toward the west: twice southwest
And once due westward.
The etrog should be held with its top next to the bottom of the lulav. While holding the etrog during the movements and during hoshanot, cover the top of the etrog with the fingers. When the lulav and etrog are moved due west, the etrog should be uncovered.
