Sixth B’rakhah: Thanksgiving for Life and Its Blessings

If the Amidah is said silently, we read the paragraph below. If the Amidah is chanted aloud, the leader recites this paragraph while the congregation recites the passage that follows.
Hebrew
מוֹדִים אֲנַחְנוּ לָךְ, שָׁאַתָּה הוּא יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי

English
We give thanks to You, for You remain our God and our ancestors’ God; You are the rock of our lives, the shield guarding us in every generation. We offer thanks and sing Your praises—for our lives held in Your hands, for our souls kept in Your care, for Your miracles that attend us daily, and for the wonders and gifts of Yours present with us at every moment—evening, morning, and noon. You are the Good One, whose mercy never ends; the Compassionate One, whose love does not cease. Our hope has always been set in You.
The congregation recites this paragraph when the service leader repeats the full Amidah, remaining seated by custom and bowing slightly.
