English
Halleluyah! Praise God. Praise the name Adonai; servants of Adonai, offer praise, who stand in this house, in the courts of our God. Halleluyah! Praise God, for Adonai is good; chant unto God’s name, for such singing is sweet. For God has chosen Jacob, held the people Israel as treasure, and I know Adonai is great, our lord above every divine power. Whatever God desires, that God performs: in the heavens and on earth, in the sea and in the deepest places. From the ends of the earth God raises clouds—lightning flashes to bring rain—loosing stormy winds from the divine vaults. God struck Egypt’s firstborn, human and beast alike, and into Egypt sent signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants; indeed, many nations God defeated, slaying mighty princes: Siḥon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan, and every kingdom of Canaan. Their land God gave as heritage, a heritage for Israel, God’s people. Your name, Adonai, is everlasting; Adonai—renowned in each generation. When You judge Your people, Adonai, You shall show compassion toward those who serve You. Gold and silver are the idols of the nations, the work of human hands. Mouths they have that cannot speak, eyes that cannot see; ears they have that cannot hear; surely their mouths do not breathe. Their makers, and all who put faith in them, shall become like them. O house of Israel, bless Adonai. O house of Aaron, give blessing to Adonai. O house of Levi, offer blessing to Adonai. Bless Adonai, all who revere Adonai. Bless Adonai from Zion, who dwells in Jerusalem: Halleluyah! Praise God.
