Prayers when Entering the Synagogue

How fair are your abodes, Jacob; your holy places, people of Israel! As for me, by Your abundant kindness I come into Your house; in reverence of You, I bow toward Your sacred shrine. Adonai, I cherish Your house, the site where Your glory abides. I shall bow and prostrate myself, kneeling before Adonai my maker. My prayers rise to You, Adonai, hoping this hour is favorable; God, in Your plentiful love, answer me with faithful deliverance.

A MEDITATION PRIOR TO PRAYER

English
At daybreak I seek You, my shelter, my haven; morning and evening I offer You prayer, yet before Your greatness I stand awed and bewildered, for already You know what I would think and utter. What force can thought and speech possess? What strength has the spirit within me? Yet, You cherish the sound of human song; and thus would I thank You, while Your soul remains in me.
