Until “in former years” on page 802, this prayer is recited in silence, standing with feet together. If a minyan is present, the Leader repeats the Amida aloud. Advance three steps forward, and at the marks shown by ▾, bend the knees on the first word, bow on the second, and stand erect before uttering God’s name.
