הַלְלוּ אֶת־יְהוָה כָּל־גּוֹיִם, שַׁבְּחוּהוּ כָּל־הָאֻמִּים׃
כִּי גָבַר עָלֵינוּ חַסְדּוֹ, וֶאֱמֶת־יְהוָה לְעוֹלָם
הַלְלוּיָהּ׃
Israeli
halelu et-adonai kol-goyim, shabechuhu kol-ha-umim.
ki gavar aleinu chasdo, ve-emet-adonai le-olam
haleluyah.
The Leader chants the verses that follow. After each verse, the congregation answers, “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; forever endures His loving-kindness.” See law 440.
On Sukkot, wave the lulav and etrog, three waves per word in the verse (except God’s name). For the opening word, wave forward; then, for the words that follow, wave right, left, ahead, up, down, and back in that order. Only the first two verses are waved by the Leader. Whenever the first verse is spoken in response, the congregation waves.
