הַלְלוּ אֶת־יְהוָה כָּל־גּוֹיִם, שַׁבְּחוּהוּ כָּל־הָאֻמִּים׃
כִּי גָבַר עָלֵינוּ חַסְדּוֹ, וֶאֱמֶת־יְהוָה לְעוֹלָם
הַלְלוּיָהּ׃

Ki gavar aleinu chasdo, ve'emet Adonai le'olam

Praise the LORD, all nations; acclaim Him, all you peoples; for His loving-kindness to us is strong, and the LORD’s faithfulness is everlasting. Halleluya.
The following verses are chanted by the Leader. At the end of each verse, the congregation responds, “Thank the LORD for He is good; His loving-kindness is for ever.” See law 440.
On Sukkot, the lulav and etrog are waved, three waves for each word of the verse (except God’s name). On the first word, wave forward, then, on subsequent words, wave right, left, ahead, up, down, and back respectively. The Leader waves only for the first two verses. The congregation waves each time the first verse is said in response.

In my distress I called on the LORD. The LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is with me. He is my Helper. I will see the downfall of my enemies. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. The nations all surrounded me, but in the LORD’s name I drove them off. They surrounded me on every side, but in the LORD’s name I drove them off. They surrounded me like bees, they attacked me as fire attacks brushwood, but in the LORD’s name I drove them off. They thrust so hard against me, I nearly fell, but the LORD came to my help.
