Ps. 125

A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion that cannot be moved, that stands firm for ever. As hills surround Jerusalem so the LORD surrounds His people, now and forever. The scepter of the wicked shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous shall not set their hand to wrongdoing. Do good, LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart. As for those who turn aside to crooked ways, may the LORD make them go the way of evildoers. Peace be on Israel!
Ps. 126

A song of ascents. When the LORD brought back the exiles of Zion we were like people who dream. Then were our mouths filled with laughter, and our tongues with songs of joy. Then was it said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD did do great things for us and we rejoiced. Bring back our exiles, LORD, like streams in a dry land. May those who sowed in tears, reap in joy. May one who goes out weeping, carrying a bag of seed, come back with songs of joy, carrying his sheaves.
Ps. 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD guards the city, in vain does the guard keep watch. In vain do you rise early and go late to rest, toiling for the bread you eat. He provides for His loved ones while they sleep. Children are a heritage from the LORD; the fruit of the womb, His reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons of one’s youth. Happy is the man who fills his quiver with them; they shall not be put to shame when they contend with the enemy at the gate.
Ps. 128

A song of ascents. Happy are all who fear the LORD, who walk in His ways. When you eat the fruit of your labor, happy and fortunate are you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons like olive saplings around your table. So shall the man who fears the LORD be blessed. May the LORD bless you from Zion; may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life; and may you live to see your children’s children. Peace be on Israel!
