Ps. 86

A prayer of David. LORD, incline Your ear and answer me, for I am poor and destitute. Guard my soul, for I am faithful; my God, save Your servant who trusts in You. Be gracious to me, LORD, for I cry out to You all through the day. Bring Your servant happiness; for I lift up my soul toward You. For You, LORD, are good and forgiving, abounding in loving-kindness to all who call on You. Give ear, LORD, to my prayer, and listen to the voice of my pleading. On the day of my distress I call out to You; please answer me. There is none like You among the heavenly powers, LORD, and there are no works like Yours. All the nations You have made shall come and bow down before You, LORD, and pay honor to Your name. For You are great, and You perform wonders, You are God alone. Show me, LORD, Your way; I shall walk by Your truth. Make my heart one to hold Your name in awe. I thank You, LORD my God, with all my heart; I shall give honor to Your name forever. For Your loving-kindness for me has been great, You have saved my soul from the depths of hell. God, many arrogant people have risen up against me; a band of cruel men sought my soul, and did not hold You up before their eyes. And You, LORD, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding with loving-kindness and truth. Turn toward me and be gracious to me. Give to Your servant of Your might, and save the son of Your maidservant. Give me a sign of good favor, and let my enemies see and be ashamed, for You, LORD, have helped me and consoled me.

House of Jacob, come and we shall walk in the light of the LORD. For all peoples will walk each with its god - and we shall walk in the name of the LORD our God always. May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our ancestors; may He never leave us or forsake us. Let Him incline our hearts toward Him, that we walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and statutes and laws, which He commanded our ancestors. And let these words of mine, with which I plead with the LORD, be close to the LORD our God by day and night, that He take the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, day after day. So that all the peoples of this earth will know that the LORD is God, there is no other.
