Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the Universe, who formed man in wisdom and created in him many orifices and cavities. It is revealed and known before the throne of Your glory that were one of them to be ruptured or blocked, it would be impossible to survive and stand before You, even for one moment. You are eternally mighty, LORD. You give life to the dead and have great power to save. He sustains the living with loving-kindness, and with great compassion revives the dead. He supports the fallen, heals the sick, sets captives free, and keeps His faith with those who sleep in the dust. Who is like You, Master of might, and who can compare to You, O King who brings death and gives life, and makes salvation grow? Faithful are You to revive the dead.
In special cases of urgency only (see law 364), the following short form of the Amida may be said. First say the first three blessings of the Amida from "O LORD" on page 112 until "the holy God" page 118, then say:

Grant us understanding, LORD our God, to know Your ways. Sensitize our hearts so that we may revere You, and forgive us so that we may be redeemed. Keep us far from suffering and satisfy us with the pastures of Your land. Gather our scattered people from the four quarters of the earth. May those who go astray be judged according to Your will: raise Your hand against the wicked. May the righteous rejoice in the rebuilding of Your city, the restoration of Your Temple, the flowering of Your servant David's glory, and the radiant light of the son of Jesse, Your anointed. May You answer us even before we call. Blessed are You, LORD, who listens to prayer.

In extreme cases where there is no time to say the abbreviated Amida above, one may say the following. However, if prayer is then possible at a later time, one should say the complete Amida.
