of violence, preserve me, who have planned to thrust my steps. 6 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set traps for me. Selah. 7 I said to the Lord, You are my God; give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my supplications. 8 GOD, Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. 9 Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further his evil plot, lest they be exalted. Selah. 10 As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. 11 Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 12 Let not a slanderer be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. 13 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. 14 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.

A psalm of David. Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me; give ear to my voice when I call to You. 2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting of my hands as the evening offering. 3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. 4 Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked deeds with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their delicacies. 5 Let the righteous strike me in kindness and reprove me; let not the oil of the wicked anoint my head, for my prayer is ever against their wickedness. 6 When their judges are thrown down the sides of the cliff, then they shall hear my words, for they are sweet. 7 As when one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol. 8 For my eyes are toward You, GOD, Lord; in You I take refuge; do not pour out my soul. 9 Keep me from the snare they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity. 10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by safely.

A maskil of David, when he was in the cave; a prayer. 2 With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I make supplication to the Lord. 3 I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. 4 When my spirit faints within me, You know my path. In the way where I walk they have hidden a snare for me. 5 Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains for me; no one cares for my soul. 6 I cry to You, O Lord; I say, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. 7 Give heed to my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. 8 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to Your name; the righteous will surround me, for You will deal bountifully with me.

A psalm of David. O Lord, hear my prayer; give ear to my supplications; in Your faithfulness answer me, in Your righteousness. 2 And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for no living being is righteous before You. 3 For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness like those long dead. 4 Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. 6 I stretch out my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land. Selah. 7 Answer me quickly, O Lord; my spirit fails. Hide not Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. 8 Let me hear Your kindness in the morning, for in You I trust; make me know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. 9 Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord; I have fled to You for refuge. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good spirit lead me on level ground. 11 For Your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life; in Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. 12 And in Your kindness cut off my enemies, and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am Your servant.

Of David. Blessed is the Lord, my Rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war. 2 My kindness and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. 3 O Lord, what is man that You take knowledge of him, or the son of man that You think of him? 4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. 5 O Lord, bow Your heavens and come down; touch the mountains so that they smoke. 6 Flash forth lightning and scatter them; send out Your arrows and confuse them. 7 Stretch out Your hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me from many waters, from the hand of foreigners, 8 whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. 9 O God, I will sing a new song to You; upon a ten-stringed harp I will make music to You, 10 who gives victory to kings, who rescues David His servant from the evil sword. 11 Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. 12 May our sons be like plants grown up in their youth; our daughters like corner pillars carved for the structure of a palace. 13 May our storehouses be full, providing all kinds of produce; may our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields. 14 May our cattle be heavy with young, with no mishap or miscarriage and no cry of distress in our streets. 15 Happy is the people for whom it is so; happy is the people whose God is the Lord.

I will exalt You, my God the King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall laud Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. 5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate. 6 They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness. 7 They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness, and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. 8 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness. 9 The Lord is good

to all, and His mercies are over all His works. 10 All Your works shall thank You, O Lord, and Your devout ones shall bless You. 11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power, 12 to make known to the children of man His mighty acts, and the glorious splendor of His kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is a kingdom for all ages, and Your dominion endures through all generations. 14 The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season. 16 You open Your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing. 17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and kind in all His works. 18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. 19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them. 20 The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever.

Hallelujah. Praise the Lord, O my soul. 2 I will praise the Lord while I live; I will make music to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; on that day his plans perish. 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives bread to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free. 8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the strangers; He upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked He makes crooked. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. For it is good to make music to our God, for it is pleasant; praise is fitting. 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. 5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure. 6 The Lord lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground. 7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the lyre. 8 He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the mountains. 9 He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry. 10 He delights not in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. 11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His kindness. 12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. 13 For He strengthens the bars of your gates; He blesses your children within you. 14 He makes peace in your borders; He fills you with the finest of the wheat. 15 He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly. 16 He gives snow like wool; He scatters frost like ashes. 17 He hurls down His hail like crumbs; who can stand before His cold? 18 He sends out His word and melts them; He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow. 19 He declares His words to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel. 20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise Him in the heights. 2 Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts. 3 Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light. 4 Praise Him, highest heavens, and the waters that are above the heavens. 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created. 6 He established them forever and ever; He gave a decree that shall not pass away. 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all deeps, 8 fire and hail, snow and vapor, stormy wind fulfilling His word; 9 mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars; 10 beasts and all cattle, creeping things and winged birds; 11 kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth; 12 young men and also maidens, old men together with youths. 13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His majesty is above earth and heaven. 14 He has raised up a horn for His people, praise for all His devout ones, for the children of Israel, a people near to Him. Hallelujah. Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the devout. 2 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with dancing; let them make music to Him with drum and lyre. 4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the humble with salvation. 5 Let the devout exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats, and a two-edged sword in their hands, 7 to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; 8 to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 to execute on them the judgment written. This is honor for all His devout ones. Hallelujah.
