liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and you shall return, each man to his holding, and each man to his family. That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; you shall not sow, nor reap its aftergrowth, nor gather in from its undressed vines. For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field. In this year of jubilee you shall return, each man to his holding.

You shall bring the Levites before the Lord, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites. Aaron shall present the Levites as a wave offering before the Lord from the children of Israel, that they may do the service of the Lord. The Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites. You shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and present them as a wave offering to the Lord. Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be Mine.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Send for yourself men, that they may scout out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; one man, one man per tribe of his fathers, you shall send, every one a prince among them. So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the word of the Lord; all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.
