and over all creatures that creep upon the ground. And then God created man in His image—it was in the image of God that He created him. Male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them: Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth with your children and control it; rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds that fly in the heavens, and over all the beasts that creep upon the earth. God said to man: Behold, I have given you vegetation for you to eat—every plant that yields seed that is upon the entire surface of the earth and every tree that produces fruit that yields seeds—they shall all be for you as food. For all of the living animals of the earth, for all the birds that fly in the heavens, for all creatures that creep upon the earth, and for all else in which there is a living soul, every species of vegetation is available to them for food. And so it was. God saw all that He had made during the six days of creation and, behold, it was very good. And once again, there was evening and then there was morning, making the sixth complete day. And so it was that at the end of the sixth day of creation the heaven and the earth and all of the creations within them were completed. By the seventh day, God finished His work of creating the universe, which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work, which He had done. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all His work—the universe that God created to continuously function.
