There is nobody among the great and powerful creations who is like You, Lord, and there is nothing that can compare to the great things You do. There will be a time when all the nations that You have made will come and bow down to You, Lord, and they will honor Your name because You are great and You do wondrous things; You alone, God, do wondrous things. Lord, teach me Your way of life so that I will walk with Your truth. Unify all the feelings of my heart to fear only Your name; let my entire heart fear You. I will praise You, Lord, my God, with all my heart, and I will honor Your name forever, because Your kindness toward me has been great, and You have rescued me from the depths of Gehinom. God, evil people have stood up against me; a group of gangsters desired to take my life—they chased me in order to kill me. They do not pay attention to You. But You, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God. You are slow to anger, and You have much kindness and truth. Turn and face me, and be gracious to me; give Your servant Your strength; save the son of my mother, who was Your maidservant. Show me a good sign, so that my enemies will see and be ashamed of themselves, because You, Lord, have rescued me and comforted me.

The Jewish Nation should go in the ways of God

House of Jacob, come. Let us walk in the Lord’s spiritual light, because each of the nations walk in the name of their own god; but we will walk in the name of the Lord, our God, forever and ever.

May God lead us in His ways

May the Lord, our God, be with us as He was with our fathers;1 may He not leave us or abandon us. We ask God to turn our hearts toward Him so that we will go in all of His ways and keep His commandments, His decrees, and His laws, which He commanded our fathers to do. May these words of mine, which I have pleaded before the Lord, be close to the Lord, our God, day and night, so that He will do what His servant needs and what His nation, the Children of Israel, needs, on each day, according to the needs of the day. May God do this in order that all the nations of the earth2 should know that the Lord is God; there is nothing else.

The following is a song that was sung by the Levites on the steps of the Holy Temple and was composed by King David: If the Lord would not have been with us—let the Children of Israel declare—if the Lord would not have been with us to help us when men rose up against us to destroy us, then they would have swallowed us alive when their anger burned against us. Then we would have been defeated by our enemies, like waters washing us away. Like a strong river, they would have swept over our soul. Indeed, the raging waters would have then rushed over our soul. Blessed is the Lord, Who did not let us become food for them to eat with their teeth. Our soul is like a bird that has escaped from the bird-hunter’s trap. The trap broke—our enemies were defeated and we escaped from them. Our help does not come from ourselves, it comes from the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
