Hallel

Hallel

הלל

Chabad: ' is a reduced vowel — every vocal shva, always pronounced. - separates syllables that would otherwise run together.

How to read the transliterations

HALLEL

Complete Hallel is recited on these following days (outside of Eretz Yisrael): on Pesach, the first two days and nights, on Shavuot, two days, on Sukkot, nine days (including Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah), and on Chanukah, eight days. Half Hallel is recited upon Rosh Chodesh and upon Pesach's final six days (as indicated).
The following blessing is recited by the chazzan. When Complete Hallel is said, the congregation answers אָמֵן as indicated and then repeats the blessing. When Half Hallel is said, the blessing is recited by the chazzan alone,1 keeping in mind that he offers this blessing for the congregation. The congregation answers Amen as indicated, keeping in mind that the chazzan offers this blessing for them.
Saying any word—other than prayer—is forbidden from this moment until after Hallel's concluding blessing on page 311. (For prayer responses, see the chart inside the back cover.)
During Hallel on Sukkot, keep the lulav in your right hand. Hold the etrog only while waving the lulav. On Hoshana Rabbah, before Hallel is recited, take off the two rings from the lulav's upper section.
Recite Hallel while standing.
