In winter (from Musaf of Shemini Atzeret until Shacharit of Pesach's first day), recite מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם. In summer (from Musaf of Pesach's first day through Shacharit of Shemini Atzeret), recite מוֹרִיד הַטָּל. Should one, by mistake, have said מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם in the summer, correction is required, and repeating the Amidah may be needed (for further laws, see page 589). Yet should one, by mistake, have said מוֹרִיד הַטָּל in the winter, going back to correct it is not required.
