Shacharit for Weekdays

Viduy and Tachnun

וידוי ותחנון

Chabad: ' is a reduced vowel — every vocal shva, always pronounced. - separates syllables that would otherwise run together.

How to read the transliterations
Step backward three paces, then incline leftward saying עֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו, incline forward saying הוּא, incline rightward saying יַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ, and incline forward saying וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאִמְרוּ אָמֵן.
Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, substitute הַשָּׁלוֹם for שָׁלוֹם.

Here the individual's Amidah ends. (Starting on page 45 the chazzan repeats the Amidah; after each blessing the congregation answers Amen.)

THE REPEATING OF THE AMIDAH

The congregation must attend carefully to the chazzan and answer Amen when each blessing comes to an end. Should fewer than nine men answer Amen after the blessings, it equals a blessing uttered in vain. Fittingly one answers with "Boruch Hu u'Voruch Shemo" ("Blessed is He and Blessed is His Name") whenever the chazzan says Blessed are You, Lord.
Viduy and Tachnun are recited after the Amidah.
On days when Tachnun is not said,2 the chazzan proceeds with Half Kaddish on page 60.
On Rosh Chodesh, Chol Hamoed, and Chanukah, Hallel is to be recited, page 307.

VIDUY WITH TACHNUN

Stand as Tachnun is recited.
