If you will listen and heed the mitzvot that I command you today, to love and serve Adonai your God with your whole heart and your whole soul, then I will grant your land rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain. You shall gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil; I will put grass in your fields for your cattle, and you shall eat and be satisfied. Beware lest your heart be tempted, and you go astray and serve other gods and bow to them. Then Adonai’s wrath will blaze against you, and God will shut the heavens so that no rain falls and the earth yields no produce. You will swiftly vanish from the good land that Adonai is giving you. Therefore, set these words of mine upon your heart and upon your soul. Fasten them as a sign on your hand and as a mark above your eyes; teach them to your children, speaking of them while you sit in your house, while you walk upon your way, while you lie down and while you rise up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and upon your gates. Then your days and your children’s days, upon the soil that Adonai pledged to your ancestors to grant them, shall equal the days the heavens remain above the earth.

Adonai said to Moses: Speak to the people Israel, and command them that in every generation they shall affix tzitzit upon the corners of their garments, setting a thread of blue upon the tzitzit, the fringe of each corner. These shall be your tzitzit; you shall look upon them and remember all the mitzvot of Adonai, and fulfill them, and not be led astray by your eyes and heart as they draw you aside. Then shall you recall and fulfill all My mitzvot, and be holy before your God. I am Adonai your God, who brought you forth from the land of Egypt to be your God. I am Adonai your God—
