This prayer, until “in former years” on page 688, is recited in silence, while standing with feet together. If a minyan is present, the Leader repeats the Amida aloud. Advance three steps and at the marks shown by ▼, flex the knees on the first word, bow on the second, and straighten up before uttering God’s name.
