TAHANUN

On Erev Shabbat and Erev Yom Tov, Tahanun is not said. It is likewise omitted on these days: Hanukka, Rosh Hodesh, Tu BiShvat, Purim and Shushan Purim, the 14th and 15th of Adar I, Lag BaOmer, Yom HaAtzma'ut, Yom Yerushalayim, Tisha B'Av, Tu B'Av, and the preceding afternoons; the month of Nisan; from Erev Yom Kippur until the day following Simhat Torah (in Israel through Rosh Hodesh Marheshvan); from Rosh Hodesh Sivan until the day following Shavuot (in Israel through 12th of Sivan); and the 14th of Iyar (Pesah Sheni). Tahanun is also omitted: at a Brit Mila, either at the place the brit will occur or wherever the father, Sandak or Mohel are present; if a groom is present (and some say, a bride) on his wedding day or during the week of Sheva Berakhot; in a house of mourning.
