וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה בְּמִדְבַּר־סִינַי בַּשָּׁנָה הַשֵּׁנִית לְצֵאתָם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם
בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן לֵאמֹר׃ וְיַעֲשׂוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הַפֶּסַח בְּמוֹעֲדוֹ׃ בְּאַרְבָּעָה
עָשָׂר־יוֹם בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם תַּעֲשׂוּ אֹתוֹ בְּמוֹעֲדוֹ כְּכָל־חֻקֹּתָיו וּכְכָל־
מִשְׁפָּטָיו תַּעֲשׂוּ אֹתוֹ׃ וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲשֹׂת הַפָּסַח׃ וַיַּעֲשׂוּ
אֶת־הַפֶּסַח בָּרִאשׁוֹן בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם בְּמִדְבַּר סִינָי
כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה כֵּן עָשׂוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

The LORD spoke to Moses in the Sinai Desert, in the first month of the second year after their exodus from Egypt, saying, "The children of Israel must bring the Pesaḥ offering at its appointed time. It shall be offered on the fourteenth day of this month, in the afternoon, at its appointed time; all its statutes and rules must be observed." And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and told them to bring the Pesaḥ offering. And so they brought the Pesaḥ offering on the afternoon of the fourteenth day of the first month, in the Sinai Desert; just as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel do.

הָיוּ טְמֵאִים לְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם וְלֹא־יָכְלוּ לַעֲשֹׂת־הַפֶּסַח בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא וַיִּקְרְבוּ
לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְלִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא׃ וַיֹּאמְרוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵמָּה אֵלָיו אֲנַחְנוּ

*There were some men who had been defiled by contact with death, so that they could not bring the Pesaḥ offering on that day; they approached Moses and Aaron on that very day. And the men said to Moses, "We are defiled by death; why should we be be excluded from bringing the LORD's sacrifice at its appointed time with the rest of the children of Israel?" Moses said to them, "Stand here, and I will hear what the LORD commands you to do."

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: "Any man who is defiled by death, or is on a long journey – now or in future generations – may still bring a Pesaḥ offering to the LORD. In the second month, on the afternoon of the fourteenth day shall they bring it; they must eat it with matzot and bitter herbs. They may not leave any of it until the morning, nor may they break any of its bones; they should bring it in accordance with all the rules of the Pesaḥ offering. But a man who is pure, and is not on a journey, and who neglects to bring the Pesaḥ offering – that soul will be cut off from among its people, for that man did not bring the LORD's offering at its appointed time, and he must bear his sin. If a proselyte lives among you and brings a Pesaḥ offering to the LORD, he must follow all the statutes and rules of the Pesaḥ offering; the same law shall apply to you, to the proselyte and to those born in your land."
