<english>Once they had been delivered from Egypt and had crossed the Sea of Reeds, the newly redeemed Jewish Nation stood at the seashore and sang a new song, giving praise to Your great name. All as one gave thanks to You for the miracles, accepted You as king over them, and said, "The Lord shall reign as king forever and ever." The prophet Isaiah said: God, our Redeemer, is called by the name "Lord of Creations" for He rules all creations. God is the Holy One, and His holiness is shown through the Children of Israel. Blessed are You, Lord, Who redeemed Israel's children out of Egypt and all their hardships.</english>

<text>2 The wars referred to here are not just physical, but also spiritual. It is known that the Satan wages war against the Jewish Nation by accusing them of wrongdoing in the heavenly court. God fights this battle, too, on our behalf, subduing and belittling the Satan and preventing him from causing harm.</text>

<text>3 The "slavery" here symbolizes our dependence on physical pleasure. The "firstborn" symbolizes our minds, where these pleasures are first conceived and thought about. If we allow ourselves to think about worldly pleasures, our minds turn into unholy "Egyptian firstborns." It is our task to "kill" them and transform them into the holy "redeemed firstborns" of the Jewish Nation, by pushing negative thoughts away and thinking about the greatness of God.</text>
