<english>The blessed God is vast in His knowledge. He fashioned and set the light of the sun. God, Who is good, formed the sun and the moon to yield glory to His name. He placed great lights around the sky; He formed the sun and the moon so as to reveal His power. The princes of His angels are holy; they laud the exaltedness of the Almighty. They continually tell of the glory of God and His holiness. You, Lord, our God, ought to be blessed in the heavens above and upon the earth below for every work of Your hands, which is good and worthy of praise. You should likewise be blessed for the great lights, the sun and the moon, which You formed. <english>The name of God, the great, powerful, and awesome King.3 Holy is He. The Serafim angels all seek leave from one another, and they lovingly grant leave to each other to take upon themselves the yoke of God’s heavenly kingdom; to declare God, their Maker, holy. They do this in a pleasing spirit by uttering clearly in Hebrew—the Holy Language—and with a holy pleasing melody. All of them as one, reply with awe, and utter what follows with reverence:</english>

<text>1 God created the universe in such a manner that, if He were to leave it for even a moment, it would revert to nothingness. For this reason, we thank Him for His “goodness” in constantly re-creating the universe and maintaining its existence.</text>
