<english>brought them forth from Egypt. God will hoist a standard toward the nations signaling that they ought, with honor, to free the remaining members of the Jewish Nation dwelling among them. He will assemble Israel's scattered folk and bring together Judah's dispersed from the earth's four corners. Every rivalry inside the Jewish Nation shall end. The jealousy of that northern realm of the ten tribes headed by the tribe of Efraim shall end, and Judah's adversaries shall desist. Efraim shall not envy Judah, nor shall Judah harass Efraim. As one, they will soar swiftly to strike the Philistines westward, and jointly they shall despoil the peoples of the East. They shall extend their hands toward Edom and Moab and vanquish them, and Ammon's nation shall heed them. The Lord shall parch the Nile, which stretches from the Egyptian Sea in the shape of a tongue. By the force of His wind, He will raise His hand over the Euphrates river; He will smite it, and it shall become seven streams. He will guide those banished beyond these waters toward the Land of Israel, their shoes upon dry ground. There shall likewise be a cleared road from Assyria for the remainder of His people who still dwell there, even as there was for the Children of Israel when they ascended from Egypt's land. And on that day, you, the Jewish Nation, shall say: I give thanks to You, Lord, for forgiving my transgressions. You were wrathful toward me, and You sent me into exile. Yet now that exile has atoned for me, Your anger has receded, and You console me. See, God is my deliverance. I trust and I shall not fear, for the Lord, God, has delivered me to display His power so that I shall laud Him, and He has been my deliverance. God's aid shall be as abundant as water streaming from a fountain, and you shall draw water with gladness from the fountains of deliverance. You shall declare to one another on that day: Offer thanks to the Lord; proclaim His name. Make His mighty acts known among the nations of the world. Tell all that His name is exalted. Sing unto the Lord for He has wrought mighty deeds; this is a truth recognized across the earth. You who dwell in Zion (Jerusalem) ought to lift your voices with gladness and sing, seeing that the Holy God belonging to the Children of Israel now has a name grown great through the wonders He has wrought within you, Jerusalem.</english>

<text>The author's purpose is to tell of God's glory, shown in the world's creation and in the heavenly beings. Next he portrays the Jewish Nation's steadfast faith before those who goad them toward idolatry - as voiced in their replies to them - and their genuine reliance upon the great reward awaiting them, whose character the author in part describes.
