The mountains shall be overthrown, stairways shall crumble, and every city wall shall drop to the ground. Thus says the Lord, God: I will summon the sword against Gog's army, wherever they stand, throughout all My mountains; the sword I summon shall be their very own blades, and in their panic each man's sword shall turn against his brother. I shall execute My judgment on him with pestilence and with blood, and I shall send flooding rains, hail, flame, and sulfur pouring upon him, upon his troops, and upon the many peoples standing with him. By this I shall be exalted, hallowed, and famed in the sight of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord. Now, you, Ezekiel, son of man, prophesy concerning Gog and declare: Thus says the Lord, God: Behold My wrath is upon you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will set you to follow your heart, and I will bring you to be persuaded to war against the Jewish Nation once more. I shall no longer let My Holy Name be profaned by allowing the Jewish Nation to suffer at their enemies' hands, and the nations shall then know that I, the Lord, am holy and abide among the Children of Israel. Thus says the Lord, God: Behold, the hour of My salvation draws near—this is the day I have declared. The dwellers of the cities of Israel shall then go forth and kindle fires, and they shall feed those fires with the weapons, shields, buckles, bows, arrows, pikes, and spears of Magog's people; so great a store of weapons that they shall keep the fires burning for seven years. They shall not need to fetch timber from the fields nor fell trees from the forests, for they shall feed their fires with the weapons. They shall take the spoil from those who despoiled them in the days of exile and the booty from those who plundered them, says the Lord, God. It shall be on that day that I will assign Gog a burial place there in Israel, in the valley of the passersby, to the east of the Sea of the Kineret. So many corpses of Gog's fallen fighters shall there be that they will bar the travelers from passing. Therefore, they shall bury Gog and all his hordes there, and they shall name it the Valley of the Multitude of Gog. The people of Israel shall bury them so as to purify the land of the defilement these corpses will bring, and the burial shall take them seven months to finish. They shall bury all the people who fell in their land, and it shall bring them renown as merciful people who bury their foes. It is a day when I shall be honored, says the Lord, God. At the close of the seven months of burial, they must appoint men of full-time service, who shall range through the land to search for unburied corpses, and with aid from the passersby, they shall bury those bodies remaining upon the face of the land so as to purify it. When the passersby go through the land and see a human bone, they shall set a marker beside it lest anyone be defiled by touching it till the buriers arrive and inter it in the Valley of the Multitudes of Gog. The name of the city beside the valley shall also stand for these events and it shall be called Hamonah—Multitudes.
