<english>to no purpose; rather, it shall fulfill My wish and it shall prosper in the charge given it—My utterance shall ever come to pass. For a day shall arrive when you shall depart from exile in gladness, and you shall be led unto your land in peace. So abundant will your gladness be that it will seem as though hills and mountains shall break forth in melody before you, and every tree of the field shall clap its hands. In place of the wicked, likened to thorns, the just, likened to cypress trees, shall flourish. In place of the wicked, likened to thistles, the just, likened to the myrtle, shall flourish. It shall stand for the Lord as a name of majesty, and as an eternal token of His love for His people, that shall never be cut off. The prophet Isaiah said: God spoke thus: During your exile, keep the statutes of the Torah and practice deeds of righteousness toward one another, for if you act thus, My deliverance shall be close at hand and swift in coming, and My righteousness shall soon be made known. Blessed is the man that does this, and the person able to cling to it: Whoever observes the Shabbat, taking care not to profane it, and whoever restrains his hand from any wicked deed. Let the son of a foreigner, a Gentile who wishes to draw near to God by reason of his faith in Him, not say, “Why should I become upright in my deeds? The Lord will surely set me apart from His people when they obtain their great reward.” Let not the childless say, “Why should I mend my ways? I am as a withered tree that cannot bear fruit and so has no continuity.” For thus spoke God, “As for the eunuchs who keep My Shabbat and those who elect to do as I wish and cling firmly to the Torah—My covenant with the Jewish Nation. I shall grant them, in My house and inside My walls—the Holy Temple—a place wherein their worthy name shall be recalled, and it shall be greater than the memorial that comes of possessing sons and daughters. I shall grant him an eternal memorial that shall never be cut off.” And the sons of the foreigners who wish to draw near to God, to minister to Him and to hold dear the name of God and to become His servants, together with all who observe the Shabbat without profaning it and cling firmly to My covenant—the Torah. Of them God declares, “I shall bring them to the Holy Temple upon My holy mountain, and I shall make them glad within My house of prayer, for their burnt-offerings and their peace-offerings shall find willing acceptance upon My altar, since My house shall be termed a house of prayer</english>

<english>The Lord addressed Moses concerning the beasts to be received as sacrifices and charged him to say what follows to the Jewish Nation: When an ox or a sheep or a goat comes to birth, it shall stay beneath its mother’s care for at least seven days and may not be presented as an offering, and only from the eighth day onward shall it be received as a fire-offering to the Lord. You shall not slay a female among the oxen, sheep, or any other beast on the same day as its male or female young. And when you slay an offering of thanksgiving to the Lord, you shall slay it intending that you will observe the laws touching this sacrifice—that you consume it upon that very day, that it may be an appeasement for you. The thanksgiving sacrifice must be consumed on the very day it was slain; you shall leave none of it over until morning, or even mean to do so. I am the Lord, who discerns a person’s intentions. You shall keep My commandments by studying them, in order that you will perform them properly; I am the Lord. Do not profane My Holy Name by willfully declining to follow My will. Observe My commandments even amid oppression; when you act thus, I shall be hallowed among the Children of Israel. I am the Lord Who hallows you to be My holy nation; I am the Lord Who brought you forth from the land of Egypt to be your God provided you will Sanctify Me by observing My commandments; I am the Lord Who deals kindly with those who observe My will.</english>
