<english>Upon seeing that the Jewish Nation had worshiped the Golden Calf, Moses shattered the initial pair of Tablets. Once the Lord had pardoned them, He said to Moses: Hew for yourself two stone tablets resembling the first ones, and I will write upon the Tablets the Ten Commandments' words that had been on the first Tablets, which you broke. Be prepared for the mighty disclosure you will encounter in the morning, and at daybreak you shall go up Mount Sinai and stand before Me there upon the mountain's summit. When you went up the mountain to receive the first Tablets, others were permitted to climb with you part of the way to heighten the ceremony. Now, however, they will be bestowed in private. None, not even Aaron, your brother, shall ascend the mountain with you, nor shall anyone appear anywhere on the mountain. Neither sheep nor cattle shall even graze facing that mountain.</english>

עֹשֶׂה עִמָּךְ:</hebrew>
<english>do not repent. He recalls the willful sins of parents and, if they persist in their parents' ways, chastises the children and the grandchildren through the third and fourth generations for those sins too. When Moses perceived the Divine Presence was on the verge of departing, he hastened, bent his head earthward, fell prostrate, and said: Should I now have found grace in Your eyes, my Lord, then please may the Divine Presence of my Lord travel in our midst as we journey, since You have pardoned us. And if, seeing they are a stiff necked people, they will transgress before You again, may You pardon our willful and unwitting sins, and confirm us as Your eternal nation and portion. God consented and said: Behold I will make a covenant to this: Before all your people, I shall produce distinctions unlike any ever created over the whole earth and among every nation—the Divine Presence will abide solely among the Jewish Nation. All the people among whom you abide shall behold the Lord's work—for it is awesome—which I am now about to perform for you.</english>

<english>Search for the Lord and turn back to Him while He still permits Himself to be found and prevailed upon—ere a decree is sealed—cry to Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his evil ways, and let the unrighteous forsake his crooked thoughts; let him turn back to the Lord and He will show mercy upon him, and let him turn back to our God, for He will freely pardon him. The Lord says: For My thoughts are unlike your thoughts—you suppose that turning back to Me will not avail, but My thoughts hold otherwise—and your ways are unlike My ways—humans are inclined to punish and not pardon, but My ways differ and I pardon. As the heavens stand higher than the earth, so do My ways stand above your ways and My thoughts above your thoughts. For as the rain and snow descend from the heavens and do not go back there via evaporation until they have saturated the earth and made it yield fruit and advance its growth, and until they have supplied seed to the sower and bread to those who eat, so will My words be of glad tidings that issue from My mouth, which you will hear through the prophets—it shall not return to Me</english>
