"english": "This constitutes the daily burnt-offering, as it was performed when the Jewish Nation stood beside Mount Sinai and erected the Sanctuary. It is a fire-offering to produce a pleasing aroma unto the Lord. For its wine offering present a quarter of a hin of wine together with the one lamb being presented in the morning. Pour this libation of strong wine for the Lord upon the holy altar in the Temple. You shall ready the second lamb for offering in the late afternoon, and ready the same flour and wine offerings as in the morning to be presented together with the lamb. It is a fire-offering, which is presented to make a pleasing aroma unto the Lord. On the Shabbat day present the following additional offering: two lambs under a year of age and without blemish, together with two-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mingled with oil as a flour-offering, and its wine offering. This constitutes the burnt-offering for Shabbat, to be presented every Shabbat. It shall be presented in addition to the daily burnt-offering, its flour-offering, plus its wine offering.",

"english": "Upon your days of Rosh Chodesh, the opening day of every month, you shall present a burnt-offering unto the Lord—two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs that are under a year of age; they should be without blemish. Present three-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mingled with olive oil as a flour-offering for every bull, and two-tenths of an eifah of fine flour mingled with olive oil as a flour-offering for that one ram. One-tenth of an eifah of choice flour mingled with olive oil is to be brought as a flour-offering for every lamb. These shall constitute a burnt-offering and a fire-offering, presented to produce a pleasing aroma unto the Lord. Their wine offering shall run thus: a half a hin of wine per bull, a third of a hin unto the ram, and a quarter of a hin per lamb. This constitutes the burnt-offering of every month, to be presented solely on its first day—should the first day have passed, it cannot be presented any other day of the month—for the months of the year. You shall also present one young male goat as a sin-offering unto the Lord. All of the foregoing should be performed in addition to the daily burnt-offering and its wine offering.",

"text": "When the Jews transgressed through forming and worshiping the Golden Calf, God informed Moses that He would annihilate the Jewish Nation and would start a new nation from Moses himself. In the reading that follows, Moses intercedes for the Jewish Nation, and God, indeed, granted them pardon. This reading is fitting for a fast day, wherein we regret our misdeeds and ask God to forgive us."
